TOMATOES TRIED TO KILL ME BUT BANJOS SAVED MY LIFE WILL REPLACE GOOD MORNING, VIET MOM AS A PART OF THE 34th ANNUAL HIGH PERFORMANCE RODEO
Calgary, Alberta – Due to circumstances beyond the control of Lunchbox Theatre and One Yellow Rabbit, GOOD MORNING, VIET MOM will no longer be a part of the 34th Annual High Performance Rodeo. However, we are thrilled to announce that the award-winning show TOMATOES TRIED TO KILL ME BUT BANJOS SAVED MY LIFE by Keith Alessi will take over the Lunchbox stage from January 11 to 25, 2020.
Fresh from his Off-Broadway debut, Keith Alessi shares his inspirational true story of leaving the corporate world behind to follow his true passion – playing the banjo! When facing a battle with cancer, his lifelong dream becomes the key to saving his life. Told through humour and music, TOMATOES TRIED TO KILL ME BUT BANJOS SAVED MY LIFE is an uplifting story of challenge, triumph, and the power of positivity.
“When I first saw this production, and met performer/creator Keith Alessi, I knew I wanted to bring this show to Lunchbox Theatre,” said Shari Wattling, Artistic Producer at Lunchbox Theatre. “I can’t wait to share it with Calgary during the High Performance Rodeo. His story is inspiring, and you can’t help but feel a connection to his charm and the power of music.”
“We are thrilled to partner with Lunchbox on this lively, poignant presentation of TOMATOES TRIED TO KILL ME BUT BANJOS SAVED MY LIFE, bringing to the High Performance Rodeo a story of personal resilience told with humour, and of course accompanied by the banjo!" said Festival Producer Laurel Green.
